Film Trailers

Focus: To realise the key elements of a film trailer

1. shows which stars are in the film.
2. action edited between director or actor credits on screen .
3. voiceovers help to tell the story & give credits information.
4.titles & key words.
5. short one-liner conversations between characters.
6. Music important to create atmosphere.
7. dramatic camera angles show events or characters.
8. often the title only appears at the end of the trailer.
9. trailer builds to a climax where it ends.
10. montage (mixture of shots & events) is often used to highlight the most dramatic aspects of the film.

Task 1 - Watch the trailer for Hancock. Continuing your Term1 powerpoint list the features of the trailer discussed by the teacher.

Task 3:Explain 3 purposes of film trailers.

Task 4: Find the Hancock poster. In what ways are the promotional poster and the trailer similar.
